7th Quest Meditations & Guided Meditations
Meditation is a highly effective tool for growth and self-improvement.
The 7th Quest offers several meditation-related services. We instruct beginner to advanced techniques in a few styles that yield practical benefits. You can do these in a group setting, or individual instruction.
We also offer guided meditation sessions for individuals and groups, and guided meditations on CD or as MP3’s).
If you want a specific topic covered, custom meditations are possible and have been done such as to support a person’s healing process.
When interest arises, we host regular meditation evenings.
Meditation Can Be:
- An intentional focusing of the mind.
- A process of calming and centering, including a deep relaxation of the body, and of the mind itself.
- A way of exercising the mind.
- A powerful experience of awareness, of this moment in time.
- It can be the still or empty mind, the void, or pure
- This is our definition. Others have theirs. All have their place.
A guided Mediation tells you what to do when, in the right order, in such a way that you don’t have to be worried about forgetting something. In self meditation, you must do all the work, remember the order, maintain your focus. Guided meditation is initially more relaxing. It is a way to take advantage of many of the benefits without having to master the discipline of unguided meditation.
Your first meditation experience with us is usually free when you participate in one of our existing groups. That way you can judge for yourself if it is something you like.
Meditation is excellent for the over-stressed, the anxious, the nervous, those whose minds won’t shut up so they can sleep, or think. Here, the mind is like an untrained puppy, full of energy without direction nor discipline. A well developed mind is there to serve the needs of the body, and of the soul. We offer feedback on your experiences of our meditative techniques.
Our favourite guided meditations, the 7th Quest’s 4 Systems, available on CD or MP3:
The Chakra System: This meditation opens the chakras for a powerful balancing and re-energizing experience. Terrific for balance, discovering and staying in your center, and more.
The Floater Cycle: This gentle meditation involves a raft floating on a gently-flowing river which winds through fields of coloured flowers. A stop at a dock with a wise old man is a a prized feature. A very calming and soothing method.
The Seed: This meditation involves becoming a seed growing into a blooming plant. Anger is transformed to strength in this lovely experience of life. A good anger “absorbing” or releasing meditation.
The Colour Cycle: In this guided meditation we surround our bodies in changing colours, take a walk into a summer’s field and fall asleep on the trunk of a tree. We then visit a Wise Man to spend time asking him anything we want. We bring back the answers out of this meditation, as well as a gift.
If you’ve been considering trying meditation for the first time, (Or are experienced), consider yourself and your questions welcome. We can give you an overview of what’s out there. We think you are better to act than to sit in indecision, in other words trying any meditation is likely better than none. You are welcome to try our meditations. We invite you to attend one of our ongoing weekly or bi-monthly meditation gatherings that usually run Fall, Winter and Spring.
